Hi,

im black, and think that tho these answers give an interesting insight into the british society, do not fully answer the question. I say this because being 99.9% white in a community may not necessary mean that theres more racism in that community, even tho that could add to its incidences.

Ofcourse, having lived for 5 years studying in england, i know that people behave differently towards people of other races, but its mostly out of a lack of enlightenment, or bad experiences they might have had dealing with a few members of other races.

Lets not forget that racism goes both ways - or all ways, and know that its not only white people that can be, or are infact racist.

Thanks.

I find this very disappointing. I have been looking for somewhere to move to should the liberals ever get a toe hold in my Suffolk village and the 'most racist town' is quite a good selling point. Unfortunately, I cannot abide the cold and the prospect of Scottish winters is quite daunting, even if my heart were to be warmed by the calls of the patriots.

Try Weston-super-Mare!

Until couple years ago if you hadn't left the town then blacks/asians only existed on TV. This town is 99.9% white. Adding that a large retired population from the era where Britain itself was 99.9% white, ensures prevailing attitudes.

A few Polish, blacks and asians have filtered through the border guards of this town lately, but its still a shock to see a non-white face.

Then again I've heard that Scarbrough and Blackpool are very similar so maybe it's just a feature of sea-side towns.

i have were given some yet i imagine i am going to bypass with Ludlow. The emphasis of food and markets, self sufficient merchants...basically each and everything i love fairly. No huge chain shops ( except for a woollies ..ooer)lots of era homes and historic factors of interest. The fort in the heritage and basically the p.c.. is like some thing from yet another age. ok The are a plethora of gray panthers and that i have been to 'friendlier' places yet for a fundamental English experience..yep..Ludlow :-) EDIT-LOLOLOL @ Rj x- I not in any respect in my existence concept i'd see Irby get a mench on solutions OMG lolololol.

Bromley, Kent, pretty bad.
I lived there for a bit in the 90s, and was always uncomfortable with the locals and their attitude towards minorities.

Lincoln is/was known as Ku Klux Klan city because of the lack of ethnic minority people (though this is changing now)

Country people are pretty bad. Oh yes and North Wales they all start talking welsh all of a sudden when you go in the shops.
