That is a difficult question! Really!
May be snow in April or 25 °C.
Take a fleece jacket and t-shirt and wear it depending on the weather. Excuse, no good answer but nobody knows what type of weather at that time persist.

As others have said, April is a tricky months to predict as the weather can change rapidly day to day and even hour to hour. I used to live there for years. I would take some warmer clothes, a lighter coat or jacket, and also something for warm temps.
Climate info for April is this:
Average High Temperature is 53 F {range: 39-71 F}
Average Low Temperature is 37 F {range: 19-53 F}
0% chance of a Hot Day (temp over 90°F).
18% chance of a Warm Day (temp over 60°F).
16% chance of a Freezing Day (temp below 32°F).
Average Cloud Cover: partly cloudy, 51% chance of a Cloudy Day. 22% chance of a Windy Day.

As for VEGETARIAN Restaurants...
There are many and most regular restaurants *will* offer vegetarian fare as part of their menu.
These are officially vegetarian:

Also see this site for restaurants by ethnicity {the Asian and Middle Eastern-themed ones usually have a lot of menu items that will work} :) http://www.schlemmerinfo.de/eng/niedersachsen/hannover/kategorien/index.html
Enjoy your time in Hannover!

There is a good vegetarian restaurant in Hannover:
Hiller - Vegetarisches Restaurant
Blumenstrasse 3
30159 Hannover
Telphone: 0511 - 32 12 88
E-Mail: info@hiller-restaurant-online.de
http://www.hiller-restaurant-online.de
Closed on Sundays and on natl. holidays
But ANY other good restaurants in Germany serves vegetarian meals as well!!!
And for the weather in April in Hannover....That's really tricky. Weather changes very quickly in Germany, especially in April....
Sometimes, it's really warm (even hot) in that part of Germany in April, but sometimes also cold & chilly. You also should check some weather websites before you leave for Germany.
A very good site is http://www.wetteronline.de - but only in German language and all temperatures are in Celsius, not Fahrenheit!
Greetings from Germany! :-))

Not this year. It's been a really warm winter and summer here this year. I think it's a global warming thing. I haven't even been able to do any real snowboarding yet :( You save the current temp on your yahoo messenger as a plug-in. That'll help you a lot when it gets closer.
