i backed up my movie collection on dvd rw,but they wont play back on my pc,all i get up on my screen is i not got decoder,any suggestions,not play on media player,tried always.

try another dvd in your drive, an actual dvd.
if the same error results, the drive may be bad, or you may need a patch or new drivers for the device. if not, then your back ups may be bad.
Although... You do realize that you can't just copy a DVD and expect it to work without the right software... which may be why you are getting a decoder error.
I'd suggest DVD X-Copy platinum if you can find a copy. I think it's illegal now, but it wasn't when I bought mine.
load, click, click, wait 5 minutes, movie copied, works in any dvd player.
Good luck, hope your dvd drive hasn't died.

google dvd decoder You would also need to get a firmware updater.

Install a program that can play dvds, then media player can play it too. i use Intervideo WinDVD
