The biggest lesson I have learned is to pick my battles wisely.

I learned this via my father, my Grandmaster, and Life itself.

There are some battles that you can win, some you cannot. If someone has a certain amount of rescources, regardless of what they are, choosing how to expend them is wise. And... we all have a certain amount of resources, be it money, fighting skills, rage, knowledge, and anything else that can be used. These must be weighed against the opposing side's resources.

Then, if you have decided to engage in whatever the fight or dispute may be, someone is going to win. It may be you, it may be the other party.

If you win, win gracefully. If you lose, lose gracefully. If you lose, why make a fuss and a mess of the issue.
