I have been on the pill for 13 years and recently stopped taking it. I am now trying to get pregnant. Does anyone know if this will cause problems getting pregnant?

I was on the pill or Depo injection for 11 years altogether. It took me 8 months to conceive my son. I did ask my doctor once about this and he said that it shouldn't cause any fertility problems.

It shouldn't. Don't think there is any proven studies to show one way or the other. I can only share my personal experience.
I had been on the pill for 11 years, came off it the April as was getting married in the May and fell pregnant by the end of that month.
Went back on it for 4 years, end time it took about 6 months before I fell pregnant again (might have had something to do with not trying so hard second time round!) So not biological reasons or anything to do with the pill itself.
Good Luck

It won't cause any long term problems with getting pregnant, although might possibly make it a bit more diffcult in the short term.
80% of women who come off the pill ovulate within 3 months and 95% ovulate within 6 months.
So chances are that you will start to ovulate within a few months and will be able to get pregnant straight away.
There is a chance it will take longer for your cycle to return to normal, but for most women this is within 6 months.

I was on the pill for 13 years and started ovulating straight away. I got pregnant first time of trying, 3 months after coming off it.
I also have lots of friends who have got pregnant as soon as they came off the pill.

If you start getting periods again, that's a really good sign. If not, just be patient for a few months, take your vitamins and use the time as a chance for you and your partner to be really healthy - that will maximise your chances when your cycle does start again.

Good luck!

I don't think it does. The only thing I was told is that it might take a while to fall pregnant because you're body is adjusting to normal cycles.

I was on the pill for 10 yrs and it took me 10 months to conceive the first time, 6 months the second time. Neither time resulted in a baby however so we're now trying for the 3rd time.

If you're not pregnant in 12 months, go see your doctor.

if u take the pill, it has to be regular use for you to prevent pregnancy. So if you break the cycle, it might affect your body and make you pregnant (even though you've been pill-ing for so long).

if you wanna get pregnant, then stop the pill for at least months before conception.

Most advice is that it can take a while for your system to get back to normal after taking the pill and therefore your ovulation may be affected. It could be several cycles. I don't believe there are any permanent effects. For best advice I would see your GP/doctor.

You should start by not wanting to get pregnant, just have sex everyday or every other day and don't think about getting pregnant, just have fun with your partner. Get more useful information and guides to get pregnant here https://tr.im/Rvbwq
after sex-put a pillow under your butt or prop your feet up on the wall so your pelvis is tilted
eat healthy
back off caffiene
workout, even if its just a 20 minute walk a day, be active.
