Does anybody know how i can make the desktop icons ( ie..reycle bin etc )smaller they are large ive tried going into desktop settings but nothing happens ! Cheers

i used to use vista but it got annoying so im back to XP. but im pretty sure if you press CTRL and scroll the wheel on the mouse they will change sizes.

go to: start/control panel/appearance and themes
(in the pick a task section) select "change screen resolution" If you want your windows and icons bigger slide the bar (bottem left) to the left, or if you want them smaller slide the bar to the right.
