take it to a garage and get a diagnostic done its the only way to find out what going on. You don't have to use the main dealer and get ripped of, there are many very good independents out there.

Try turning the car off then restarting. Most of the time a number of engine faults will trip the vehilce into the limp home mode and unless you have th ecapabilities of running a good scanner on you r vehicle I would take it to Jaguar.

See if their is an automotive place near where you can drive it and they can runner a scanner on it. Otherwise, buy a Haynes Repair manual and most of the time it can show you what to do.

My brother had a 95 xj12 and that was like riding in a jet when he laid rubber on it. But a gas eater too.

get down to halfords they sell a fault code reader about £20 otherwise a good local garage should sort it avoid jag bills!!!!

i bet its the fuel pump, or those stupid SU carbs
