The age at which you get your period relates more to when your body decides to release estrogen rather than your mothers age when that happened. It usually ranges from about 11 or 12 to somewhere around 16 years of age. If you still haven't started by the time you are between 16 and 18, there could be a bigger issue to deal with and you should see a doctor.

Not necessarily. Depending on your weight, age and activity level you can get your period at a different time than your mother. Yet studies have shown that women who live together will get there period at the same time.

When your mother started her period can affect when you get yours. Genetics have something to do with it. However, this is not a guarantee. We are all different. I was much younger than my mother was when I started mine. Woman generally start a little earlier with each generation, but other health factors can enter into that.

It all depends, you might get it around her age, you might not. Girls are getting it earlier and earlier now because of all the stuff they put in our foods, and people maturing quicker all that jazz. But if you dont get it the age your mom did, dont feel bad be happy, periods really suck.
