I saw the Babel recently and found it didnt have any subtitles...well i understood the movie for most of its part..except the Japanese father daughter story andhow it is related to the story in Morocco..can anyone please let me know what was the connection there and what was the issue concerning that part of the story..thanks

Sorry you didn't get the sub-titles; it was a terrific movie. The Japanese storyline is only tangentially related to the others, although one could argue that seemingly incidental connections often have the greatest impact. The rifle that the Morroccan boy used to shoot Cate Blanchett used to belong to the Japanese father. Evidently, he had gone on some hunting trip to Africa years ago and left the rifle as a gift for his hunting guide, who passed it along until it got to the Moroccan boy's family. The Moroccan police get the gun, find out about it's claimed origin and that is why the Japanese policemen went to visit the Japanese father - to confirm that the gun had in fact been his and that he had left it with the Moroccan. The irony is that the Chieko, the Japanese girl, assumes that the police are there to talk about her mother's death, and that opens up a whole can of worms for her and her father. More miscommunication in a movie all about that.

Go to http://imdb.com/
and search for BAbel.
You dont need to register but its free ..so try it.
