Your question isn't silly at all. In fact, there is a physical biological explanation for how mountains might make you well.

You see our bodies have a cluster of healing mechanism called the "immune system." It heals cuts, fights diseases, etc. The problem is, to be strong for you, your immune system needs rest and regeneration. So if you live a stressful life that never lets up, your immune system could get beat down so much that it won't be much help to you. You could get sick and have a really hard time getting well.

The presence of mountains can have a wonderfully calming effect. They are grand and beautiful and it's easy to relax in their presence. We look upon them and just let go of our worries. If you have access to mountains, and if you take the time to appreciate them, mountains can help you calm down, rest and regenerate. Your immune system can recover so that it can do it's job and help you get well.

So you see?...you were right. Plenty of bedrest and removing the cause of stress will do the same thing, but mountains can work, too.

If you mean the ones we sometimes make out of molehills, no. They'll make us sick.
