For those who are married, what's the best quality/trait of your wife/husband?

The best thing about my husband is his loyalty to our marriage and our children. Also, he is such a responsible man in so many ways. i.e. keeping a job-paying the bills on time-being where he says he'll be--giving me the same freedoms he gives himself--being a great father to our children. He is loving and kind. He shows his affection daily to me and to the children. He is also a Christian man. I can't think of better qualities in a husband or a man than whom I have already been blessed with.

You just asked a question about a coworker that you have feeling towards, so I am answering this based on that knowledge. Marriage takes a lot of work - some people say its a 50-50% proposition. Its not, its 100-100%. Both people need to put their all into it. When you get married, you are saying in effect "I am choosing you above all others, and putting you above everything else in my life." You say "If the other half has some bad traits in their personality, such as selfishness, these traits often get worse Once you have kids, less time with each other and then there is no time for marrirage and life is all a big routine. After a while, once you know (think you know) your other half well, no burning flame as you had originally Sex becomes unexciting" Yes, that's part of what your signed up for. I am sorry for your wife. It sounds like you're putting it all on her,I'm sure you have traits that she finds pretty unattractive as well. And it also sounds like you are letting the co-worker take the focus off your wife and family, which you should not be doing. You make your own happiness- no one can magically make it happen.

Im no longer married. At least I don't think I am so I would have to say the best trait a spouse can have is someone you can really talk to

To stand by me through thick and thin. We've been married for 49 years now and it hasn't been easy at times. We've weathered through some pretty tough times but, we made it.
