The real problem is stress and frustration, the traffic in some towns is horrendous. So much time is spent sitting in jams and its all very well to say that people should stay calm but when working hard that time spent in traffic could be put to better use. Also these same drivers put in a different situation, example: on holiday in a rural area with all the time in the world would not yell and swear...

My boyfriend and I don't yell and swear. So if you're tempted to judge all Londoners on the behaviour of two people, can you please use us as your basis instead of your "so called friends"?

Most drivers don't, either. I live and work in central London and I walk to work every day. I cross zebra crossings and wait at traffic lights and so on, plenty of opportunities to witness/experience bad behaviour, but there isn't really any. People sounding their horns is rare enough that everyone looks round to see what the problem is, and it's incredibly rare to see people yelling things out of their car windows at each other.

Your friends just sound like angry, stressed people. City life isn't for everyone. You have to have a sense of humour and a sense of perspective to cope with the crowds, the noise, the queues and the delays. And people who respond to the least annoyance by making it worse and trying to antagonise everyone around them are a major cause of stress in others.

Waiting in a queue is a minor inconvenience. Waiting in a queue when the person behind you is acting like a two-year-old in a temper tantrum is incredibly stressful. And that would be your friends, by the sounds of it!

I am not surprised that when you're with them it seems like everyone's doing the same as they are - it's probably in response to all the naked aggression that they are showing to the people they come across.

Only the ones that don't know how to drive properly and have no respect for others - which means most of them.

But you'll find them are all round the world.
