Yes there is life, but it's not ON Mars; it's IN Mars... as in about a half mile down beneath the permafrost. It is related to Earth life via Panspermia. It may have formed on Mars first and then been transplanted to the Earth.

Rocks, sand, dust, carbon dioxide, hills, more dust, ice, a few space probes, dead (or nearly dead) volcanoes, craters, canyons, even more dust, chaotic terrain, wide plains, nitrogen, yet more dust.
Lots of fun for geologists, not much fun for biologists I'd hazard to guess.
