Fitboy, they do that with nearly everyone, no matter their orientation. Some are more blatant about it; others more discrete.
All men constantly compare themselves to other men, especially in a locker room environment. Most don't have a clue what another man's sexual orientation is -- most are respectful of one another but they do take a glance at another guy's penis, his physique, his hairiness, etc.
It's just part of being a man -- something we have to learn how to control doing ourselves (to make sure we give others privacy) but also something we put up with because we know it really is not meant to harm us or belittle us.

I labored at a YMCA and we had a checklist or 2 of adult men having intercourse with one yet another interior the lockerroom late at evening. i grow to be by no ability there for it yet they weren't generally happening to any of the regulars. They possibly met up someplace else and snuck in. there is possibly too plenty at stake to do some thing so risky, unlawful, and risky.

I`ll tell ya exactly why, these **** heads that all stand around talin their ba *** crap about te low life gay asshol_s then when all their friends are safe at home with mommy watchin every step they make, the others go out and find a friggin queer of their own, this isnt my personal observation, but have seen things that suggested it to be so. So I asked a very good friend of mine, a cutie gurl, usta was a boy, here in l.a. county, my question, what percentage of so called straight guys hit upon you when they arent with their homo-bashin buddies? I said, about 20% , she said, more like 80, to 90% of them come back alone and ask her and her friends out. Another gay friend from Reno, says, people come to his house for comp repair, everyone knows him, knows he is gay, said, funny, guys come here, bring friends, or wives, someone says a gay comment, guys cdamently say, oh ya, hes gay, I dont like it, but his life, most return later alone, want a bit of lovin, I guess Gay , bi, trans, les got the most balls, we arent ashamed, if our friends have a prob with it, they get new friends, the homo-haters, like it, but can`t let their macho bros down, its all BS

Instinct.
Watch the wild animals and see how they check each other out when deciding whether to fight or flee.
As a culture, we are so unified (male and female) in our envy of the penis, that only the female chest will divert the glance of a straight dude.
And why is it so surprising, since we are all likely bisexual anyway. Let's let go of of the straight/homo paradigm and realize that The Truth (of fundamental bisexuality) will set us free...

Is there a look of envy or pity on their faces? Maybe, like a child, they're tired of playing with their toy and want to try another kids toy.

Maybe they are curious about how other men look compared to them. If men weren't so afraid to show it they wouldn't be asking questions like what is a normal penis size.

It's to size you up, really. They want to see how you compare, and the locker rooms probably the only place they'll get to see if theirs is bigger/smaller. So they'll steal a quick glance.
Yes, one or two might be bisexual or gay, but it's doubtful every onbe of them is. They just want to see, they're curious.

They're checking out the competition..to see if they measure up. Don't forget straight men haven't seen as much of other men as we have.:)

Sheer curiosity and depending on the size, perhaps envy.

They stare at you because you're black. They want to see if the myth of blacks having huge peckers is true or not.
They are not sexually attracted to you. They are fascinated (and potentially intimidated) by the size of your penis.
If it bothers you that much then stop going to the gym. Work out at home.
