I am going to Mautitius in April and when i have been lookin at the weather forecast it says that the best time to go is May-December. I'm worried because it has cost alot of money and so I don't want it to rain so do you think that April is a good time to visit?

Thankyou!

I used to live in Mauritius, and for me April & May were my favorite months of the year. The hot temperatures and humidity are getting over and temperatures are slightly cooler, but still plenty warm enough to swim and enjoy other water sports. Very very slim chance of heavy rains or cyclone as this type of weather happens mostly in January or February. There are areas of Mauritius where rain is more frequent (city of Curepipe for example), but this is not typical of the entire island. I find that rain showers come and go but are not of long duration. It usually rained a bit in the early evening for a few minutes which was not in the least unpleasant. As I said, it really depends on where you are on the island as well. Why worry about rain showers? Mauritius wouldn't be a beautiful tropical country without some rain. You will enjoy Mauritius, it's a beautiful country with beautiful people.
