Each is justified by life within them. Until man can create or resurrect life, independently, it is not his(or hers) to destroy. Your petty societal values do not apply to the pricelessness of life itself.

The only reason why it isn't moral is because it would hurt people I know if I did. I probably can't justify my existance because I am not adding much to society and really have no purpose to life. I don't have any kids, just a pet cat to care for. If I had no family or friends, I might be more inclined to go ahead and do it. But I do so I wouldn't want to hurt anyone. And thus is my main reasoning. Otherwise, it would be completely moral for one to commit suicide.

Why is tax money so important in your equation.

I see a kind, loving person who never works or generates a penny for the government to waste as far more of an asset to humanity than any one who can say little about themselves beyond how much money they have.
