For the past 4 years, I have been secret friends with a married man. When I first met him, he didn't wear his ring, and I didn't know and he din't say. When I found out, it didn't matter, I was smitten. Now, it's not fun anymore, the sex is boring, and he's still very cute, but I don't want him around anymore. Everytime I see him, I want to say: go away, but old habits are hard to break. I just want to say it nicely, and not have him discuss it--which he will--or he'll get nasty.

You'd just have to bite the bullet and tell him. Don't give him room to discuss it - you don't want to see him anymore so therefore you shouldn't. Plain and simple. Just go up to him with your objective in mind and don't let him push you around.

If by getting nasty you meant violent or something like that, I'd maybe call a battered women's shelter or look one up online for some tips on what to do in that situation. I hope you didn't mean it that way though!

Good luck!

Well you don't want to hear it but there is really only one solution, to get away from it. So the question is how to do so, cutting off all contact is not going to help you will just become more dependent due to lonliness or becoming melancholy looking back and romanticizing the situation. My suggestion then is that since you are miles apart, start dating, start meeting other people. The more you begin to fill the emptiness in your heart the more you will realize how this affair is ruining you as a person and damaging your self respect. Truth of the matter is you have become his dirty little secret and he is yours. it is not healthy, find someone you can be open and honest with and move forward with a good healthy loving relationship. Realize what you have become and work to fix it ASAP. Expect more of yourself and live your life with love for another not with regret that you cannot have what you want.

Let's see...he's married??? Didn't wear the ring??? What a guy...if he won't stop --just avoid him and maybe get a boy of your own while you're at it...He'll get nasty??? get nasty with his wife---tell her to tell him to leave you alone---old habit??? Screwing a married man is a dangerous habit--not an old one--get a grip and move on. Wake up

well first off he's a liar for not mentioning he's married making it wrong that he's cheated on his wife. put yourself in his shoes though. would you like it if your husband was cheating on you? you can't say it doesn't matter because it does some how. and second if you don't wanna see him anymore, confront him of how you feel. he's as wrong as any man would be when they cheat on someone. you'd be little right if you tell him how you feel and walk away from him. good luck on this.

What you do in life always comes back to get you. Someday you're going to meet a guy that is going to put you in the position of the woman that you're humiliating now. When this happens, you'll have no right to ask why it happened to you.I'm not being mean, i'm telling you what is going to happen to you.Write it down and remember this!

Maybe that's why his wife doesn't care if she knows. She's maybe hoping you'll take him off her hands. I haven't much to say to you. Your the "other person" and get what you deserve. After you found out he was cheating you should have called it off. Do you think life and marriage is a game?

Nothing worse that an unsmitten kitten. Time to pick up your litter box and move away from this stupid relationship. Just break it off and walk away from it. You don't owe him anything.
