Originally schedule to open 13 May 2006 for last year's FA Cup final but a dispute between the FA and the developer, Multiplex, meant the it could only open this year. This means the venue will be ready for the FA Cup 2007.

When you go to the New Wembley web page all you read is that the residence of Barnet `WERE` suppose to be having a open day on the 3rd March 2007,(subject to date change) did it take place? And Gordon Brown in all his glory saying about the governments feasibility study on the U.K holding the 2018 FIFA World Cup,( at the moment all we want is the F.A.Cup date). Also planned is a concert for Diana on July 1st 2007. I have just found an article written on 13th February 2007 concerning the F.A.Cup, it says there still were on going problems with the contractors but Brian Barwick F.A.Chief Executive is reported to have said last week " That everything was `back on track` to host the F.A.Cup on the 19 th June 2007 at Wembley, BUT, Pointedly added that there were `no guarantees` that it would be ready on time ". The last Game of Football held at Wembley was in 2000 when England lost 1 - 0 to Germany. So I guess we have to just believe that the F.A. know what they are doing, and Wembley will be open one day soon!!!

The original date for reopening was believe it or not May 2003 since then it has been mentioned that it would open for every F.A. Cup final since then. The F.A. are now waiting for the stadium to be handed over to them by the contractors & then play a womens international & an u21's international to gain the safety certificate then hopefully the cup final will be played there but they are keeping Cardiff free just in case.

according to the news of the world, it should have been the 2003 fa cup final but due to multiple foul up's it may be ready for this year's fa cup, if they can get their safety certificates in time if not then maybe the play-off finals but this year for sure......!

It was supposed to open in July last year, and Jon Bon Jovi were due to do a concert (they performed the last one at the old stadium).
The rumour is it will be ready by July this year!
It's only a rumour.....
