CJ, watch the movie 'Road to Guantanamo', and then tell me they are kept in civilized conditions.

The majority of them haven't even been charged, and i'd say many of them will be released without charge.

It is against federal and international laws to be kept imprisoned without charge. This in itself is an act of a 3rd world nation.

Terrorists are humans too who deserve fair justice.

Think in reciprocity. If Iran (for example) was was keeping a few thousand American citizens, torturing, abusing and malnourishing them for years on end without laying charges or giving them any form of fair trial or justice, would you be fine with that?

I most certainly am. How can we be taken seriously as a civilized nation when we're starving, electrocuting, embarassing, and torturing "prisoners" who we hold without any evidence of linkage to crime/terrorism/etc.?

If Canada weren't turning into a right wing state, then I'd move there.

No, the prison is for terrorists. They deserve it. Besides the conditions of it are exargerated by the press and left-wing political groups.

The press loves to cover it because its controversal and sells newspapers. Think about it, did you ever hear of a reporter getting a pulitzer prize for writing about how great a prison is at locking up dangerous people? In constrast, historically, many reporters have gained great prestige in the publishing field by taking the anti-war approach. These reporters declair themselves pioneers and rightous savores fighting to stop so called "abuses" of government power.

However, the facts directly support that the prison has no torturing nor any abuses occuring under the Geneva convention.

The prisoners of Guantanamo are treated quite well in comparison to past wars, i.e. world war II where POWs on both sides suffered much more greatly.

No. yet I do think of that something of the international could feel embarrassment approximately themselves. something of the international only sits lower back and twiddles their thumbs jointly as terrorists plan assaults world extensive. the U. S. is doing a needed interest. do no longer forget approximately the terrorist assaults in India in November 2008, or the Bali assaults, or the Madrid assaults, or the London bombings, and so on. and so on. and so on. human beings have a short interest span and damaging memory. Terrorists are alive and nicely throughout this international and it wasn't for u.s. stepping as much as the plate we would all be screwed. Guantanamo Bay would have its share of issues, yet under no circumstances am I ashamed of the U. S. attempting to wrestle terrorism.

No. Proud of it. They're lucky we didn't execute them yet. These are terrorists, whoever you are that wrote this, and they should be treated as such. We're doing what we need to do. Do you think these people belong back out in the world to do more damage? Plan another 9/11?

To the first answerer, great idea for you to move to Canada.

The rules for holding them without charge are different for foreign war prisoners, and this is a different kind of war, so we need to hold these people. There is evidence on them, lots of them, and possibly some will be tried, convicted, and spend the rest of their lives in prison. I think the majority of Americans are more worried that they'll be let go.

By the way, IRAN did keep our embassy staff, abusing them for a year in 1979. The ones left in Guantanamo are the hard core Al Queda and taliban.

Not sure where you're from, but see if you feel the same if these wackos attack your country.

Of course not! We have to stick terrorists in prison somewhere! The only thing I do not like about Gitmo is that they give these terrorists all the comforts of home, or better. If Americans were captured by these Muslim terrorists, they would have been tortured, starved, and kept in the most dismal of conditions. But these Muslims are kept clean, fed "culturally correct" foods, allowed religious materials, etc. So I don't see what the problem is other than the American taxpayer has to pay to support their sorry a**es!!

I'm not, why should i be? U have to remember these people are terrorist that were all part of the tali-ban. these people fight wars by strapping bombs to them selfs. then target places where the most people gather that includes markets schools u name it. now since they don't fight a conventional war. why should we treat them like us pow's?

edit
federal and international laws do not apply to military bases gitmo is not on us soil. and don't believe every thing u see in that movie i have lived thereon that base and where that prison is there is housing around there so they wouldn't be blasting any kind of music these men are not being treated bad u want to know bad?talk to some of the ww2 vets that were caught by the Japanese or the pow from Vietnam who were brutalized and how many of our pow are still alive? that they have u know u can sit here and whine how they are treated so unfair but at least they are still alive unlike the people they take. that all have family's to that will never hear from them again go tell that to that mane family that got his head cut off on TV by these people and tell them it is unfair how they are treated. think about all this before u call this a injustice

Terrorists are humans too who deserve fair justice

THEY DO????

I hope you're sitting down because you need to know something that you may or may not be ready to hear:

The terrorists want to kill YOU!

Not just a few Americans, or for that matter maybe, not just a few non-muslims. they want to kill YOU. YOUR FAMILY!! YOUR FRIENDS!!

These bastards killed a few of my friends on 9/11 and I know they wanted to kill me too.

The terrorists want to kill ALL americans, including YOU, me and everyone else that uses this forum, among many others.

Humans are compassionate and have regard for their fellow man and their life.

To use the words TERRORIST and HUMAN in the same sentence to imply that they are worthy of the aforementioned traits imply that you have no working knowledge of life.

These people may be humans, but they are NOT human.

I AM PROUD OF GITMO AND WE NEED MORE FACILITIES LIKE GITMO!

FAIR JUSTICE?

For what they are and whay they represent, they are being treated well. They should be burned alive in my opinion.

I hope I put things in a better perspective for you.

The terrorist has to be ashamed for themselves if they're not in it why they get caught in the act. Now Guantanamo is their home sour home.
