I don't think Karnataka was denied justice, It was a long (and may be a fair) process. Neither the judges are stupid to do injustice to crores of Kannadigas.

Learn to share. Karnataka was always aggressive to share waters with neighboring states.

No. This is a false assumption. As one living more than 40 years in Karnataka, I can tell no body is a loser or a gainer in the Tribunal award. Could some one point out what exactly we have lost and what justice has been denied to us? Cauvery is one of the best utilised River in Asia. But it has to face deficit supply for the requirements of Two States fully. Dams have been constructed across all the tributaries of Cauvery in both the States since 1924 accord. This has resulted in reduction of flow in Cauvery considerably. Thus time has come that we have to use and share the water judiciously with others. It should be left to the Governments and the Agriculturists of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to come to a workable agreement. Not to be left in the hands of Politicians and bureaucrats who would enjoy differences for their personal benefits. There should be a National Policy to share rivers among the States. We should learn to live with our neighbors without rancour.

The present tribunal and the previous Cauvery tribunal and the Supreme Court judgements never agreed with the stand taken by Karnataka govt. It is to be noted that none of the judges in the Tribunals are from Tamilnadu. Moreover, all the governments involved have engaged eminent lawyers to argue their cases. The counsel for Karnataka govt in the present tribunal is Mr. Nariman, who is one of the best lawyers of the country. He has termed the judgement fair. Just because the final order of the Tribunal is not to the liking of Karnataka, we should not say justice is denied to Karnataka. Last year when thousands of villages were marooned in Maharashtra due to flood, Karnataka refused to open Almatti dam. Karnataka needs to be more humane towards the neighbouring states with regard to river disputes.

Justice is done to you for the following reasons:-

1) That Cauvery does not belong to one single State is recognised.

2) That its waters should be apportioned among all the riparian States is recognised.

3) That all the States should sacrifice and share at the time of distress is recognised.

4) As for Karnataka, their right to start any new projects is recognised, but within over all limit of their water share.

5) The arguemtn of Karnataka that the measurement of water being released by them should be at Billigunda and not at Mettur is accepted.

6) The amount of wster being used by Tasmilnadue before 1971 which was a lionshare is not allowed. The water to be released from Karnataka to TN is restricted drastically to 192 tmc.

I am sorry that I cant give an intelligent response as I have not collected all the facts. But what I can say is that Bangalore & Kannadigas are coming across as v intolerant ppl. What will banning Tamil Cable TV have on this river dispute ? This anamosity towards so called 'outsiders' is ridiculous. Just like the Shiv Sainiks in Bombay.

If we look it as an Indian all the rivers flowing though India belongs to India and all Indians and in case of such disputes it is best not to do anything that is unlawful and follow the legal verdict.

After all you all are Indians, so why all the fuss, why not learn to live sharing. If you are going to start saying state by state, than I feel India is gone of the world map.
