My USB connections on my computer work fine. But when I try my Belkin USB hub, it doesn't work. The Belkin hub has 7 USB connections. What can the problem be?

I have a USB 2.0 root hub that says I have 0 mA required and 500 available.
I have 4 USB root hubs that say I have 100 mA and 500 mA available (it has a yellow querstion mark in front of it but it says it is working properly), but then it says I have 1 port available which requires 0 mA.
Then under Other Devices I have a USB device with a yellow question mark. This one says that it doesn't have a driver installed for it.

USB connectors are rated for power each port can handle.

Most hubs use an ac pwr adtapter to ensure each port has enough power. Some devides are self powered.

I'm guessing whatever you are plugging in needs more power.

To find out,
right click My Computor
Device Manager
Open the Universal Serial Bus
Doubleclick the USB hub
Power Tab shows the power capacity, and what is being currently used.

It could be a power issue or a port compability issue. Like if the the hub is usb2 and the port is usb 1.1 then you might have some paower issues because of usb2 requiring more power and usb 1.1 supplying less. Might be something to look into.

Contact Belkin for support.

Check their web site.

Check that the hub has power.

Try it with just one usb cable connected.
