LOL I did not read the rest of your question but I could talk about piercing all day! I cannot help you with location but I sure can tell you about how to have a healthy piercing and what to look for in a piercer.

Of course piercing hurts when it is done! They are sticking a needle through your flesh. The good news is the pain passes very quickly. A good piercer will talk you through the procedure. Beyond a few little throbs you should not have pain. There is no problem with piercing your navel. Just keep it very clean with a q-tip and a drop of warm water and follow the piercer's aftercare instructions to the minute. Do not try to replace it with something prettier until you know it is thoroughly healed.

Move the fitting around and rotate it a few times a day. You do not want the wound healing tight to the fitting. If there is crud in the wound, it is best dealt with at the tail end of your shower or bath by running fresh warm water on it. No soap. By then, moisture has softened the scab and the fresh running water cleanses the wound. Then you can rotate the piercing with little problem. Make sure this is the first part of your body you PAT dry with a fresh clean towel to prevent infection.

There should be no infection if you keep it clean and the piercer uses QUALITY fittings. That is something that cannot be stressed enough. Almost all problems I have seen come from poor work or poor quality fittings. Not all jewelery is equal and some piercers have been known to use lesser quality. This I know from experience.

Use polysporin lightly. The only time I used it was if the piercing was out and I was nervous about sliding it back in. Dab a bit at the hole then slide it in. Cleanliness and moving it about are all you need to heal nicely. Wear pants or skirts that do not rub that area of your body so that there is no catching or rubbing that can cause irritation.

And no it cannot cause anything bad unless your parents decide to spank you for it! LOL. I have never heard of a belly button piercing having complications if these guidelines are followed.

So Barbara’s Rules for Successful Piercing are as follows:

Parental Consent

Reputable piercer

Top quality fittings

Rotation and cleanliness

HAPPY GIRL WITH PRETTIER TUMMY!

If there are any complications like pus or so on, see your doctor who will most likely advise removal. However, great cleanliness and rotation and protection from damage should guarantee you no problems. Every step I have given is crucial for success.

I hope this helps! Enjoy yourself.
