As with any fractured bone, the two free ends of the fracture will bleed internally. The resulting blood clot and scar tissue surround the fracture and form what is called a callus. Over time, the body will start laying down calcium in the callus and it will become more solid. Eventually (though it may take several months for the clavicle) the callus will become solid bone. The body will try to "remodel" the bone as best as it can, but you will likely always have a residual deformity of the clavicle. The amount of deformity depends on how far apart the free bone ends are.

Clavicular fractures are a rather unique type of fracture. There is a joke about clavicular fractures in medical school that as long as there are two free ends somewhere in the body, the clavicle will somehow manage to heal itself!

Get well soon.
