Painting with a very broad brush, it seems to me that if a Conservative MP is involved in a scandle, it tends to be about sex or money. Whereas, with Labour MPs, it tends towards power/graft/money.

Now, would you prefer to be governed by a party that likes a bit on the side, or one that wants and seeks control and power?

The "traditional" style of conservative has always wielded enough power so they would never really have to be exposed for that. However, a labour person may not have had such a background and so, like a new convert to any religion, is fervent in it's persuance. The current numbers one and two labour politicians are extreme examples of this.
The sex part is a throw back to when this used to be a moral country, when we believed in marriage and true values. This is now out of the door so "having a bit on the side" should be no problem.
So I guess I would prefer to be governed by the Tories, at least they are not blatant Liars and if they same something, even though you know it is probably a lie, they do lie in a much nicer way!!!!

Don't you read the papers?
Prescott and Lord Goldsmith having affairs not high profile enough for you?

I don't care too much about personal habits or marital problems, what I want is for politicians to get some backbone break out of party straight jackets and start representing the people and holding who ever is in government to proper account. So that they have to explain why they are doing what they are doing properly.
Then we might get manifestos that reflect the needs of the people and the country, not the wants of the power crazy political elite.

I'm with you there mate, I don't give a toss if @ the wk'nd a guy dresses up an calls himself Susan does it effect his job?
Same with Charles Kennedy, so what he likes a drink or six this is England.
At least the conservatives didn't make up the rules as they went along and change them behind themselves, I really don't get how anyone can still support Labour, fuc!

I think you are wrong. How about J. Prescott and his secretary? Or money in brown envelopes for Conservatives?
They are all in it for what they can get. The higher they climb the more they get - look at pseudo socialist Bliar and his 5 (FIVE) houses. How can he pay for those on his salary?
However much we would like honest politicians we will never get them. It's an 'old boy' network.
