One of my friends had it done, and she loves the result, but her vision was extremely bad before the procedure. It's definitely not for everyone, but a competent eye surgeon will advise you whether or not it is an appropriate treatment for your condition and what the risks are (almost none, I think, but you need to ask an expert, meaning an eye surgeon, to be sure if there are special considerations in your case).

A responsible surgeon will not operate unless s/he thinks you will have a good result. If you want to google more information, the correct spelling is "lasik."
