What are the best websites/books/references you can think of, other than taking a class twice a week (which I just started)? Any advice helps! Thanks!!!

Adult ballet students have their own sub-forum on the "Ballet Talk for Dancers" message board:
http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?
Everything related to ballet gets discussed over there and professional dancers and teachers are on hand to offer expert advice. The entire site is literally packed with information, and the fact that you can interact with other members is a feature you won't find on any other site that people recommend.

It's never too late to start learning ballet.

It is never too late to start ballet! It is a great workout and will improve how you move on a daily basis. I HIGHLY recommend the DVD "New York City Ballet workout" by Palm Pictures. I found it at Borders and it is an absolutely amazing ballet focused workout. Just try to dance everyday and you will get better and better. Whatever you do, just don't give up. ALL dancers have been a beginner at some point. =-)

No its not. Anyone can start ballet. Sure your body wont be as flexible as that of a 6 year old but over time you will still be more flexible than the day you started. I actually kno a person who started ballet at the age of 42.

its never too late to start dancing however at your age you probably wont be able to persue a professional career. Its highly unlikely as it takes years to become a good enough to get into a good company. Ballet is the best dance form to learn as it teaches you control, flexiblity and disipline. You must be dedicated as well. Good luck I hope i helped

Of course it's not too late ! I can't give any advice on books etc, but otherwise my top tips would be stretching everyday, dance as much as possible and enjoy yourself !

It might be kind of hard because you need to develope your muscles when you are younger. Your body developes to the stretches and steps of ballet better when your younger because your muscles are newer. It may help to stretch everyday, and always work on whatever you do in class. I would definatly try not to slack off!!!!!!!!!!!

It is never to late. I have been dancing since I was 2 and it's not easy. If you put your mind to it you can be one of the best all you really need is balance and coordination

No I don't think so. Nothing is too late for anyone to start his or her passion..

Well for any books or reference you can just search for them online using Google.
