Women in most US states lobby heavily to eliminate brothels. Why? Because women maintain a sex cartel "called marriage", where the charge huge fees to access female sexuality.
Organizations that offer sex per hour threaten the cartel.

Sometimes, letting go seems like the easiest thing to do. But think about this: you've invested so much of your time and energy into another person; you've made a solemn promise; and you still know there's love, even if it's hiding underneath the surface. This website will show you how to save a marriage and avoid divorce, even if you're the only one trying https://tr.im/46gML

Because here in the U.S., we come from a puritanical tradition and our public laws reflect the idea that "sex is dirty and sinful." Prostitution exists everywhere. However, our backward and old-fashioned governments like to pretend that if it's not legal, then it won't happen.
I'm no fan of prostitution, but I believe it should be decriminalized. It's going to happen whether people like it or not, and the money that's spent on vice squads could be better spent on helping sex workers to get some counseling, treatment, and job training. Also on helping the people who use prostitutes to get some counseling as to why they choose this, instead of having real relationships.

People that cheat on their spouses with anybody can get STD's. Men that cheat on their wives with other men pose a big problem too. What you are saying is that having an establishment down the street where you can go and get your jollies without having to worry whether you pick up an undercover cop (or disease) is what you would love. There are whores everywhere (even ones you don't have to pay for) so we don't need a house to put them in.

There are brothels all over, in every state, but they don't advertise on billboards, it is a word of mouth thing. Other than a possible health threat, where there are no condoms used, I think it is a public service of prevention, in some ways.

My compliments to edwards, man you rock , you have hit the nail on its head.
Ever heard Sexual monoply ? Thats what the female would always like to have because imagine if prostitution is legalized and with present set up wouldnt that be the most booming industry and all females would be forced to think atleast once about it as a lucrative profession?
Anyways why there are no brothels atleast on paper is because as females say somethings are best kept under the carpet lest their nefarious designs are realized.
In any case its a mere legal formailty - legalization in reality its actually practised by almost every female.

Prostitutes need to get a real job and find God. There's plenty of other ways to make a living besides selling yourself and spreading HIV.

Prostitutes don't pose a threat to the public. The men who (ab)use them do. And I don't care what argument you make, men who buy sex from prostitutes, male or female, are abusing them.
