I don't give much thought to him being a Mormon, but more that he seems to have a lack of charisma. But time will tell. I need to see more of what he's about.

Here is my thoughts on that...

To answer the question shortly:

I don't really care about their religion, if they have the best "game plan" for the USA than the other candidates more power to them

Longer Answer:

Many people make such a big deal about the type of people that run for President. They will say things like: "Oh! he is the first black candidate ever!" or "Oh she is the first female candidate ever!" etc...

My answer to all of those is "So What?"

When I am looking at the candidates I frankly could care less about the race, minority status, gender, etc... I am looking for a person I think is going to lead the USA in the best direction for the USA

Frankly by saying one of those exclamations about gender, race etc... I think is prejudice in the first degree and I could care less

Those are my thoughts on the subject,

I think he's probably just trying to gain publicity for the Mormon church. He doesn't really have to come close to winning the presidency to do that. I don't think he has much of a chance, though...he had to turn a 180 on a bunch of issues just to run. Doesn't really seem like he stands for anything.

One's religion shouldn't ultimately influence your vote. We need to look at the man, his agenda, etc. The Mormon faith doesn't tell it's members how to vote or take political sides, but tells them to be educated and vote according to what they feel is important. I think this would probably be how Romney is, or has been (as we can see from his record). He's been a huge success at everything he's done, is a great family man, has a vision, and is very intelligent. But, I still need to wait and see. The election is a long way out.

To me is does not matter what faith that the president of the United States is or even the senate members or any other politics in office. I like to look at what the person running says at there view points. For an example right now i will look at there viewpoint on Iraq. How are they going to handle this situation and what is going to be done about it? There are other points of view that i am going to look at I am sure that there are going to be more as time goes on.

Separation of Church and State anyone??? There are numerous Paradoxes within the wording of our historic government documents... but to question a person's ability to properly lead our country based on religious affiliation is unfair, unjust and uninformed.

I do believe that having Christian morals will play into some of the law making, yet we can rest assure that Polygamy will probably not be voted into law. There is a solid system of checks and balances to prevent that.

The same thoughts as possibly having a woman or a black as President... I'll be voting on who best represent my views, and who would be best for this country.

Color, gender, religion don't affect my voting. I could care less what religion as President is.

Okay, I'd have a problem with a satanic worshiper, but excluding that, their spiritual beliefs don't phase me.

Usually I would say that a persons religion, race or sex doesn't matter to me, but the more I learn about Mormonism, the more I find myself concerned about Romney's religion.

Sorry Leaha, but Nixon was a Quaker, not a Mormon.

If you're going to elect a President based on his religion rather than his potential ability to run the country, then you're screwed.

What concerns me is Who is the best person for the job. When you elect a president, vote for their platform on issues , not for their religion.
