need to know if the parts are the same on both cars: one is totalled

The engine parts will be the same if they both have the same engine number. Now parts like the doors are different though. But you could swap engines with no problem. But I tell everyone. Buy a Haynes repair manual for your vehicle.

Some yes, some no. You will probably have to ask a dealership, depending on what part you need to replace.
