Do you think the war is so we can have 'cheap' oil? Bring Democracy to the world? Well - we're now billions of dollars in dept for our 'cheap oil' and we don't have our Democracy at home anymore! I ask, what is the point?
Our tax dollars are subsidizing the big corporations that are making billions of dollars on this war, while our country is going down!

Larry - I was being sarcastic about the 'cheap'.
You added many of the other items we should be aware of. Thanks!

I agree that we Have been duped, but, where is all of this "cheap" oil everyone keeps talking about ??--- I don't know about anybody else but what I have been paying at the pump for quite some time now tells me that what ever the oil companies are doing--the end result is that I am paying major bucks for my transportation these days--- and so, if someone is getting "cheap" anything---it isn't ME !!

And, one thing that warps me out totally here is--- that we can't seem to provide quality follow up medical care for the very military personnel that we have coming out of Iraq wounded and disabled--but yet we can spend Billions on housing and businesses for the very Iraqis that hate our guts and the company that is doing most of this construction has "lost" billions of dollars that they can't even account for ---- Billions !!! It is a sideshow of horrors !!!

The war was never about oil...

We did discover the illegalitys committed within the Oil For Food program by the UN Secretary General's son after going in... (thats probably why the French opposed the invasion... They were making money off of the violations of the UN sanctions.)

We predicted that when we went in that our troops would be greeted as heros. They were.

We have said all along that when the Iraqi people have a stable government and the ability to control the violence themselves that we will leave...

Therefore, if the Iraqis are using violence to try to make us leave they are doing EXACTLY the wrong thing. Evidence says that most of the violence is from non-iraquis.... Iranians, Saudis, Syrians.... Crossing the border under orders of and funded by Iran and others.

So.. we DID win the war we went over there to fight. We got Saddam. He's out of power. All of his regime's leaders are dead, in prisons or in hiding. (very few left in hiding...)

And... if the Islamic extremeist actually followed the tennents of thier own religion, the conflict ofver there woudl be OVER completly by now.

Islam translates as "Peace"

Islamic Jihad translates as Peaceful Holy War.

The only way to have a peaceful holy war was demonstrated by Gandhi. A single frail old man made the british pack up thier toys and go home by... not eating. No guns. No bombs.

If the Islamic extremists read this... maybe they'll get the idea. As soon as they follow that example.. War's over.

We'll pack up and go home becasue we won't have any need to stay and try to protect the people who stuck their fingers in the bottles of purple ink, after voting in thier new constitution and thier new government.

Iraq had close relation with USA. During monarchy, this country was a member of Baghdad Pact. It received some support during War with Iran. Saddam was a open supporter of Palestinian. However, it has made mistake by invading Kuwait. USA has stake in entire region. He was removed by using force and successful election were held. However, with the removal of Saddam entire Iraq was destabilized by groups having vested interest. Stability in Middle East is in the interest of USA and rest of the world including Iraq. USA is fulfilling its responsibility. There is no substitute for peaceful negotiations.

uday kusay and saddam himself were all victims of the usa arrogance, greed and murderous intent. Bush's war of revenge, a charade of billions of dollars.

No democracy was ever planned for Iraq. It is and remains an oilk grab and a clear shot at planting a puppet supporter for the usa in the middle east.

of course the usa is despised for its governmental support of the evil state of Israel. that is the most obvious impact of the aid dollars in the ME.

Oh FRED! You'll nerver see cheap but, the American Oil Companies will and gouge you even while their earnings(?) will continue to sky rocket. Even this won't happen untill the US gains control over Iraq and has their own people in place.

Come on Fred! Wake up and smell the fires.

We are not "being" duped...we were duped to start with.
It is tragic that it took three years or more for Americans
recognize the Administration for what it is. There were
those that were taken in on the front end, but soon realized
how they were misled, but they were quickly criticized as
being unpatriotic.

I believe it's unpatriotic to be supporting the war in view of
what it has done to our country, our people and the families
of those who have lost their lives.

Well, there was never an altruistic motive for invading Iraq.
The whole thing stinks to heaven. And now they want to invade Iran?
