I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!!! ill try it describe it to you
This was a drama/comedy show from the 70's or 80's (It was in colour). It was US or perhaps Canadian.
The show was about a Magic old man who lived in a house - he had a young aprentice (i seem to remember him being hispanic but that's probably not accurate) who was eager to learn the magic but was always goofing off.
In one episode the old magician shows the apprentice how to make multiple copies of flowers. The apprentice uses this simple duplication trick to double his money (a $20 bill).
I seem to remember the opening sequence showing the old man at the top of his house (inside) at the top of some stairs that were lit in brilliant white light - suggesting that the room or space behind him was magical.
There was also an attractive female lead that was sort of a teacher/mentor who acted as a go-between the Old man and the apprentice.
Anyway, I hope from this description that someone can figure out what show i'm talking about

yes it was interesting~there are things in this world that are going to only be remember because there are no living roots back to some of the lost things that are only three decades in to the past, locally here where i am we have turned into a bedroom community of out of town workers and the whole city is now trying to dig up what is differently out in the boondocks in the hands of a very limited few in memory and no physical remains are there few picture and a few thoughts and that about it
