I don't mean Commercial Driver. The people who scuba dive and work underwater, either exploding things, doing mechanical work and operating machinery.

Does anyone know of a web-site with information about the average ages of this industry?

Your help is appreciated.

You don't see many over the age of 50 but I don't know what the average age is, but here is a site I found all about it.

First of all commerical divers rarely use SCUBA equiptment due to limited bottom time and no communication. They use dive helmets. The age is quite a factor because you dont come out here and become a diver immediately. You have to do deck work for 1-3 years first. If you are not in good physical shape or have back problems this job is not for you. That being said I know of and work with divers who are in their 30's and 40's. Most people in the industry are in their 20's-30's. If you come to work as a diver, expect to take orders from someone 10 or more years younger than you.

Check out www.kirbymorgan.com. or search "commerical diver" in Wikipedia.

I'm 42 and I work with a diver who is several years older. The average age seems to be mid 30's, mostly due to people settling down and staying ashore, it is a hard life for a family, but I know of and have worked with divers in their 50's.
