If you are talking about this, then yes I would recommend it.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

I wouldn't recommended it. If you don't want to spend money then go for it, but i would also get adware se, its free too. If you go for free products then you need 2 or 3 of them. The best on the market is Spysweeper, but it cost, however it is definitly worth the 29.99. Nothing comes close. Spysweeper blocks almost 170,000 spyware/adware/viruses before it gets to your computer. Spybot only blocks probally 30,000 and spyware is always getting through. Same goes for adware se. My school has a 1000 laptop network and they use these 2 programs and im always seeing things get through that spysweeper would stop before it gets to your computer. Needless to say they are gonna drop spybot and adware se at the end of the school year and buy spysweeper. I've used just about all spyware, adware and anti-virus software. But it's up to you and your budget to what you need to do...

yes spybot is one of the best spyware, malware, etc. remover it is EXCELLENT for removing harmful stuff from your computer. If you're dialup it is a must because it clears the spyware off of your computer and speeds up internet browsing tremendously. Also if you can afford it i would recommend buying AVG antivirus. (theres a free version if you want to try it first) I have it and have had ZERO infections since buying it. :D Anyways spybot will take care of Spyware, Adware, etc. but not viruses. Also Ad-Aware is a good tool for spyware removal.

Spybot Search & Destroy is definately a good tool to have. I DO reccomend it. I suggest you maybe download a free copy of Ad-Aware SE to go along with it. The 2 together work great.

Yes Spybot is fine to use, use it alongside other protection. You don't have to got to PCWorld and buy anything from one of their sales assistants pretend technicians have a look around at what other people use and arr recommending
