In the non-sexual context, the "passive-aggressive" answers are valid.
In the sexual context....
Within the context of a proper D/s relationship, the submissive does, in a very real sense, have the ultimate control--the power to say no. While common belief may be that the submissive simply goes along with whatever the dominant partner wants, in fact, the actions of the "top" take place within limits set by the "bottom."
If this is not true, it's an inappropriate and exploitative relationship.

Not as bi-polar and neither as passive-aggressive, if you really meant at the SAME time. In that case it's called being manipulative. A case of consciously or subconsciously being submissive in order to "win" or dominate [usually afterwards].

In a way the submissive one is getting the dominant to do what they want so the sub is controlling the dom in a sense.

I wonder the same thing. I think it's best to choose which of the two you prefer (in yourself) and stick with it. I'm not sure though, that's a good question.

I think you'd have to switch between modes, but you could have both personalities in there.
I can do both, but I like to be told what to do most of the time.
