A republican governor in the state of Texas just raised taxes on cigarettes another $1 per pack. Fact is republicans are all for taxing the majority however they can. They believe in corporate welfare programs based on the notion that if you give business the money they will find a way to use it to create jobs and grow the economy. They believe the result will be a trickle down effect where the money they give to the rich business owners will eventually make its way down to the masses. The past 6 years have proven that their theory is bogus and that republicans really don't care about working class americans. We owe the rich nothing. Let them earn their own money like the rest of us. If they go bankrupt let them get in the foodstamp line. Oh yeah, they cut that to the point you have to be a minority to qualify. They can still hold a sign on a street corner begging for money. Oh yeah, they outlawed that too. Guess the rich would be S.O.L. if not for the repubican party.

I was not aware. So is there an average holiday when the banks and post offices are closed, like the 28th of May or something? I'm pretty sure it's not the first Saturday in May, I think that's when the Democrats and Republicans have the Kentucky Derby.

do any Republicans actually leave the house and talk to other people...

because I get this vibe that not many do and they have this "ideal view" of the world that just doesn't exist...

look around you... it's pretty clear...

for Republicans every day is Sept. 10th 2001 and we have to stop terrorist attacks and be constantly paranoid... even though every day, there is not another attack...

people are happy on the 4th of July, Republicans are too scared to be happy...

for dems... every day is New years day... always a new beginning and a chance to make things better... but you have to fix what's wrong in the world to make it better

You got it backwards, hunny.
Dems care about the well being of ALL people in this country. Hence, the raise on minimum wage the Republicans did not approve of.
While, the Republicans care only about $$, since they like to spend it excessively and make sure the rich keep it by supporting big businesses while screwing over the small ones. ( read the actual addition the republicans attached to the bill to increase minimum wage, carefully)

That's funny - except for the fact that Democrats really just want Republicans to pay taxes (more taxes on the rich, less on the poor unfairly affects Republicans more). :-D

I think that's an overstated generalization. It's about as false as if someone said Democrats are for terrorists and Republicans are for war.

That's funny, we are already taxed enough. I really wish the republicans would go back to being fiscally responsible, the federal deficits are getting ridiculous.
