I think in general western society has placed too much emphasis on possessions and material wealth. It's a case of "the other man's grass is always greener".
Sometimes with so much stimulus in this world we can get caught up into thinking that we need "x" in order to be happy.
We all have basic needs - food, shelter etc., and there's nothing wrong with wanting "more". But it's also important to remember the "little" things in life, the sun shining, or the rain, a child's smile or just laughing.
Maybe we need to remember the little things more often.

We cannot be truly happy all of the time. The best we can hope for is to be content and happiness can occur randomly.

some people dont have blessings. they dont have a good home life. they dont have a nice community. and they have some poverty. at first they are ok. but eventually they start to get bitter. thats pretty much all it is. they just want a hug from somebody.
