Like a bat? I want a day bat. Or a day owl. Like Blade.

But what if you got the bat at birth and raised it yourself? Could you then just keep it awake during the day and feed it during the day? Would that eventually make it a day bat? I just love saying day bat.

Dear Osama Bin Laden,

Some guy told me you can make me a day bat on Yahoo! Answers. If this is true, please contact me through my email. I would very much like a day bat and also need as many excuses as possible to type the words day bat, given that it makes me giggle every time.

Thank you very much,
Alvin

I think you should try being nocturnal yourself. Bats and owls are not known to go against nature as much as human beings, so it should be easier for you.

Nocturnal doesn't mean comatose during the day it just means that's their body clock set time for optimal foraging.
Many nocturnal animals venture out during the day.
Bats/Owls do not make good pets as they have very particular needs and diet requirements.
Without these requirements met the animal will sicken and die .. the same with skunks, lizards, or other exotic pets... and many simply die from depression.
Keeping an owl of any type would first of require a permit from most states and they too have very specific needs / diet .
to say nothing of the fact that they are birds of prey .
You can't supress instinct no matter how long you've had an animal or how well trained it is ...and those that try are often badly hurt by an animal, bird or reptile that is only doing what comes naturally.
You have to ask yourself one question ...is it fair to cage a wild animal ? Domesticate it ?
As a "Critter Sitter" with long years of experience I can tell you absolutely that "exotic" pets ...even those that are well cared for ...suffer .. as they can not enjoy the freedom they crave and are entitled to ...
Why not volunteer your services at the local animal rescue or bird rescue. You might even serve as a foster parent for young or wounded recovering birds...such as the owl.
If you go ahead and get a bat or an owl do your homework first , and get your shots. You'll need them ...

No you can't. My husband has tried to train me to go to bed by 10:00pm and it hasn't worked. My parents also tried to train me to go to bed early and get up early.. you just can't change these natural rhythms.
