When you see a dead animal on the road, do you call the city to remove it?

Usually all I ever see is the occasional dead squirrel which is nearly gone. I have called the city to remove a cat though a few winters back when I was riding my bike to work. It was right next to the sidewalk stuffed in a plastic grocery bag. It took them almost a month to take care of it and I am pretty sure that it wasn't my phone call that got them out there but the city workers that had to remove the man hole cover it was on. For all I know they just threw it in the trash.

I wait for someone else to do it, I don't even consider calling the city to remove it. I guess I just don't really think about it. I'm usually concentrating on something else while I'm driving.

It depends on where I am. I know who is responsible in the county where I live and I would call them (and I have). I have no idea who is responsible in the city I live outside of and I would probably not take the time to find out.

Well this may sound morbid, but I live in the great desert northwest, and the coyotes take care of things like that. Even if you did call animal control to pick up the carcass, the coyotes would beat them to it.

depends on where I am and how big an animal. if it's a squirrel, the birds will clear it off soon enough. If it's a deer, I call it in.
