It is not "permissible" to use explicit language if it is offensive to anyone. The use of such language usually reveals the limits of one's vocabulary. By limiting oneself to the "colorful metaphors", rather than expressing the proper ideas, has a tendency to diminish their own character. So next time your boss "cusses you (or others) out", take a moment to reflect on how their creature (in the moment) impressed you, and if you really understood the true idea(s) they were trying to convey.

Do not use foul language even if your supervisor was the first to say explicit language. However, you can report your supervisor for misbehavior to your superior so that appropriate action will be taken against him.

Definitely not. You supervisor can be brought to task on it too if someone wanted to do it. Language falls into bullying and harassment. Your job could be in jeopardy if someone chooses to report you instead of the boss and you don't get saved by passing on the blame to the supervisor.

Sure you could, but why not be the bigger man?
He'll feel like a complete *** when he calms down and you will have WON!
The best thing to do when some jerk is shrieking obscenities at you is to laugh at his antics in his face. He's trying to get a reaction out of you. You laughing at him is NOT what he's going for.

It only degrades you both, as opposed to simply allowing him/her to degrade his/herself. Never wallow in the mud with a pig, you both just get dirty, and the pig enjoys it, lol. I personally use profanity/exlicit language quite regularly, and it often does quite a bit of damage on first impressions....sometimes it helps though, lol.

No. Two wrongs don't make a right. If your manager does it then you do it, you are voiding his mistake.
