I am a man with a large nose, which I believe greatly reduces my chances with women and has caused me misery and self-awreness since childhood, since it was the butt of many a joke. I am not fond of pictures especially side elvations because of my nose and my confidence does get affected sometimes by this nose. Is it a sin (I'm a Christian) to get rhinoplasty (nose job) to reshape it and reduce its size to give me a better look and maybe end my lonely spell. I know some might say that, it is what is in the heart that will help find the right person, but hey, after so many years of loneliness, one begins to re-evaluate his options.

I consider myself to be a Christian also and I do not think it is a sin if you want to have rhinoplasty especially since the size of your nose has been the brunt of many jokes toward you.
I think it is when people go to extremes - nip, tuck, botox, lifts, breast implants, ad infinitum - that, not only is it unnecessary, but unhealthy.
If you can afford it, go for it. Just make sure you choose a well qualified surgeon.
I think the difference in your looks will bring about better self esteem and that will bring about more self confidence. With that going for you, I think you will not be lonely very much longer
I've always thought/said that looks may get your foot in the door but you better have something more to back that up.
Just for the fact that you have opened up and clearly expressed yourself, I think you will have more going for you than just your looks.
Go for it!!

I don't think your nose size/shape is the reason that has reduced the chances with women.... Look at Will Smith;s ears... with all the money, and fame he never appears to be lacking in any self esteem, or women, and I'm sure at school he was made fun off....

...It's your confidence... or the lack of it, that is the problem

I ain't a fully church-going Christian, but I wouldn't have thought that changing your image - something God has give you, to be your unique self would be very Christ-like... But it's up to you..

Who would say that they are 'perfect'...? I'm sure 90% of the country would like to change something about them self....

I do not consider it a sin to have rhinosplasty. I would encourage you to have the nose job and feel better about yourself. You mentioned that you are a Christian, talk with your spiritual leader, pastor, or counselor about it as well as a doctor.

If God and Christ are merciful and loving I would have thought that they would be delighted if you found a better life through surgery. Though I'd throw a few extra good deeds in there to sweeten the pot!

it is a sin to get plastic surgery. god created every person differently, as he wanted you to be. no ones happy with the way they look, but to change it would be sacrilege. people who change their appearance are only showing a lack of respect and breaking one of the ten commandments which states that we do gods bidding unquestioningly.

GOD tells us that we are a temple, and if you want to redecorate it with a new nose job, then I don't think HE will mind.
