You have probably heard of an area called the bermuda triangle. It' a place were ships and planes are supposed to disappear without any evidence. Unfortunately the facts are somewhat different. Lloyds of london, who insure most of the worlds shipping, say the number of ships lost in that area is no different than in any other area. There is also a famous story of a training flight that went missing in the area after WW2. What the stories never tell you though, is that the pilot frequently got lost when flying over the sea, and had ditched several times previously.

So it's quite simply a myth, with no basis on fact.

I wish that I could remember the sources for you, but I cannot. I remember hearing on the TV that this area exists and that it is absolutely true. They showed the air routes, sea routes and everything.

The explanation given was two-fold. One was that the seas in the area are known for some of the strongest currents and whirlpools and the like. The second is that the USSR patrols the area very effectively. I have seen documentaries and reports in the news over the years which confirm both.

This area, if I am not mistaken, is in the north of Japan, between Japan (especially Hokkaidō) and Russia. I cannot remember if the other places make the dangerous area the Sea of Japan or the Sea of Okhotsk.

The "Devil's Sea", which is to the south of Tokyo is considered no more dangerous than any other area...unless you count Godzilla.

Naw... You've heard of the Devil's Sea "as local Japanese fishermen call it". The truth is, the two stories that supposedly tell of this Bermuda Triangle of the East were adapted to fit the profile of a zone of disappearances. Supposedly people in Japan don't even believe in it.
One tells of a fishermen who is "stuck in time" but since stories like that exist all over european ports as well. It's just a folk tale.
The other tells of disappearing warships during the early 50's and the big, fancy research vessels sent to investigate that also disappeared. Turns out, they weren't really warships and they didn't really occur in the same area. The were a couple of fishing vessels that disappeared during the same time frame. The research vessel was actually investigating an undersea volcano when said volcano erupted and destroyed previously mentioned vessel, wreckage was recovered.

Actually, it is the Bermuda triangle. And scientific studies have shown that a possible cause is bubbles rising through the water sinking ships, and possibly an unusual magnetic field causing airplane compasses and radar equipment to go crazy, so the pilot gets lost until he/she runs out of fuel and crashes.

It's the Bermuda Triangle. I think it is a myth due to a series of coincidences.

Haven't heard of it but it could very well be a dimensional portal. There are very many in the Earth.
