Brother that bought the beer was 24 or 23. Brother knew that 17 year old had been drinking and had no license. The girl that was killed was girlfriend of boy driving. Not sure but told that truck was in the name of other brother. Girl 7 months along.

He's gone, and the person that let him use the truck could also be charged knowing that this person brother or not did not have a valid license.

Boy goes to jail. As for how long, it depends on how aggressively the prosecutor in your county plans to pursue the claim. Not sure how the murder statutes are in your state, but he may be looking at something as serious as Murder in the Second degree for the girlfriend.(You'd have to look at case law and the statutes in your state) Also not sure how he would be charged and potentially convicted with the unborn child, this is sort of a hot topic after the Laci Peterson case, and it differs from state to state. The brother may also be in big trouble not only for purchasing the alcohol, but could also be tried for murder or manslaughter if he handed over the keys knowing that his brother had been drinking and had no license. This is not a pretty situation, and seems like one that will be getting a lot of media coverage if it hasn't already. Boy needs a good lawyer. Best of luck.

It should be considered 1st degree murder, because you intentionally drink and intentionally drive (you plan to do these things ahead of time, always, so it's premeditated) and drunk driving should be considered murder. I'm a HUGE fan of making the punishment fit the crime. I'd like to see that kid, in addition to whatever penalties the law will allow, be forced to ride along with an ambulance service until he works a few fatality accidents/DUIs. Let him see an infant turned to jelly in a car-seat by some idiot drunk driver. The first thing he'd do, if he were a real man (age doesn't matter in a case like this anyway) is walk up to that girl's parents and accept responsibility for what he did, without the benefit of the presence of law enforcement personnel....Of course that's just my opinion. I also believe that drug dealers, child molesters, murderers, and rapists should be hung by the neck until dead in town square, and that wife-beaters should be bound and gagged and beat until they stop moving by their battered wives. I have some pretty radical views on crime and punishment, I guess. It's not like there's a shortage of human beings anyway, I think we could afford to get a little harsher.

double homicide , vehicular manslaughter , being 17 most likely tried as an adult , may do 20 to life...the brother may get an accessory before ,and after the fact of a murder , or negligence resulting in deaths ,and contributing to a minor ,contributing to a crime resulting in death.....he is done for as well..maybe 15 to 40 years......., the 17 year olds parents can be sued as contributing to the wrongful death because he is under 18 so the parents are legally , financially responsible for his actions (not the brother) either way the state will bring the charges and both are going for a long time , their parents should have taught them better , I think the parents should be charged with neglecting to properly train their children resulting in a death of two human beings ,,,but that one probably will not fly...it should ..............but they boys are in bubba's hands now.......they knew better , I do not feel bad for them , I feel for the baby that will never get to live ..............................no drivers license ,and the fact of who's name the truck was in will probably not matter as the prosecutor
will go for the larger charges(( the no license and owner of the truck is irrelevant to who is responsible for the death of the mother and her unborn child.....

Hopefully the driver goes to prison for a long time; 2 counts of reckless homicide.

Possible charges agianst the brother who supplied the alcohol as well.

would not make any distinction who bought the beer, and that i might choose for to STRONGLY advise that driving force to get an relatively extreme powered criminal expert, are the driving force of that motor vehicle is going to be in penal complex for an relatively long, long term. the owner of the motor vehicle is in hassle too, he bought the beer, provided it to the minor, enable minor tension his motor vehicle , inebriated, minor inebriated, passenger killed. driving force ought to be charged with 2 diverse deaths, killing the two mom and unborn infant. mothers and fathers of that woman could additionally sue the two the driving force and the owner of the motor vehicle, which they possibly will. Very unhappy that this way of teen made lots of incorrect selections and has possibly screwed up his life perpetually.
