There are several reasons why men seek multiple women:
1 - The 'Player'
This guy fears commitment, but is so driven by his sexual desires that he will seem to be focused in the relationship. In reality, he's trying to get as much sex as possible. Then, when he finds himself in the portion of the relationship where there is sex, he will continue with that one while starting a new one, hoping to get to the sex portion of the new one when the old one starts to decay. Or, he loves the excitement of the chase more than the lasting relationship.
2 - Confused Man
This is the guy who dates one woman, gets to know/love her, and then meets someone with whom he claims, 'love at first sight.' Now, this may be love, or just plain lust. Either way, he is torn by his old, steady love, or the new, exciting one. Usually when this guy is caught cheating, he will fall back to the old love if it is possible, and may realize that he has something better than 'new excitement.'
3 - The Insecure Guy
This guy may not have been social in his youth, and upon getting out of his 'shell,' does as much as he can. Either this is to make up for lost time, or because it turns into a pseudo-drug, giving him a 'high' he never had before.
This also is seen in nature (though not everywhere). Pack animals, such as lions and wolves, will have one male for several females. As the more powerful male would be the one impregnating the large number of females, it helps the species by passing on the good traits. Of course, there are the animals that do mate for life, like certian birds.
To finish up, yes, there are bad people out there (Get that? People. Guys aren't the only ones who do that.), but you have to identify those to keep moving on.

It can get them "cool points" with other men that are like that.
Some men feel the need to do that because they aren't being satisfied by just one and with more than one woman they don't get the same things with all of them which can make things more fun. They also can do things more often without having to worry about one of the women getting tired of it or him. With others it could be just an image thing or they might not know which one they like or want to be with.
If a man truly loves you he wouldn't go for anyone else he'd only want you.

It depends on the situation. Some guys are from another country and need to get their immigration status. Some like the security of one and the fantasies of the other. I think it's impossible to be in love with two people at the same time. You will always end up loving one more, over the other.

We are supposed to love everyone, but you are talking about the sperm donors who spread their seed all over town and have 20 kids by the time they are 25.
Well for one they are major jerks, and two there are too many women in this world that are willing to sacrifice their health and their sanity for 'love' that ain't love just deceit. When women get smarter men won't be doing that anymore.

It's a man thing. The fact that 95% of them are cheating, lying pigs. That's the way they were raised by their fathers in most cases. It's only natural that they will develop the same qualities. Such a shame.
