I'd go with C.
A-I don't think many law professors go around giving free legal advice to random people who ask for it(I doubt any of my professors have time to!)
B-Yeah these lawyers have a scummy reputation, and I'm guessing the experts that they use have an equally scummy reputation.
C-This would be best because these people would have the most interest in the situation as they could potentially make the big money as an expert witness. I know in the firm I worked for when there was no expert listed in our expert bank for a particular specialty that the paralegal would either ask another firm that they were on friendly terms with to reccomend one or call around to local hospitals and find someone.
D-This also isn't a bad option, but you're going to run into similar problems as with 'B' as there is no filter on the good or the bad.

It can either be the state in which you reside or the state where the contract was signed. Usually the the state where you signed the contract. California is 4 years and Utah is 6 years for written contracts. You are well beyond the SOL either way.
