Actually a lot of people do remember childhood details.......in fact there is a theory that people who have "alien abduction " memories are really just remembering being born........

Some people remember more than others. I know that I remember when my baby sister was brought home from the hospital when she was born and I was only 3 years and 3 months. My siblings and I often speak of our childhood. They all say that I remember much more than they do. I do know that most people usu remember something that was traumatic to them. The traumatic memory can be either good or bad, but BIG to the individual. For instance, I was very excited about my sister coming home from the hospital when she was born and so I remember that. I also remember getting the measles and having to stay in bed and missing TV. That was bad. These memories are from before I was four years old. What do you remember? How far back? What is really YOUR memory as opposed to what you have heard and formed a mental picture of? I don't know. But I do remember getting the daylights spanked out of me for hiding Daddy's car keys!

Our brains continue to develop until we are about five. Most people have memories from 2 or 3 but they are spotty. We are inundated with so much information that we can only remember so much. We do remember a lot from our early days, like walking, talking, eating, how to use the potty, our ABCs. We don't use the other information and memories as much so they fade.

Because we would be scared for life... just kidding... Don't know, guess it just went too fast and we were too busy growing up. I can only remember as far back as Kindergarten.
