When I was little, we lived in a rundown shack, and one night, i struggled to sleep, which had never happened because I usually fell right asleep...but I stayed awake for who knows how long.
I lay on my back staring at the door frame, and I see a little Scottish dog come in...
You know when you look at a bright light too long and you close your eyes and you see those blue squiggles? Well, he was 'made' of that, outlined with it, and he moved in jerky motions, like an old cartoon or something.
Anyways he ran to the side of the bed, jumped on my stomach and then dissapeared! People have always told me I was dreaming, but I have never forgotten that night.
Can anyone tell me what the dog was, or why he came to me...
or tell me if I'm nuts!!

I am not saying that this is the case in this incident
I am simply laying out probables for your consideration
There is a state OF sleep where an individual is in a quasi-sleep mode---not quite fully asleep but yet definately not awake --- And, within this semi-conscience ---half asleep / half awake state-- individuals have had all kinds of similar experiences !! Not, necassarily the dog thing--- but similar things have occurred !!
And, usually when these things happen to people they say that it was as real as real can be and they sometimes have a VERY difficult time in pulling together any sense out of it at all for themselves !! It seems to "bug" them to no end in other words !!
So, there you have at least one other "probable" ---But, it's like I said to begin with--- I ain't the one saying that you didn't experience a supernatural encounter--- because I do believe that such stuff as THAT exists---- I just thought you could use another view on the matter !!

True Story:
I am a mailman and I seen this dog in the middle of winter in the bushes of the house where I delivered the mail.I walked through the front lawn, big house and big lawn rich neighborhood, and the dog usually is in the yard or in the house.
The dog always barks at me,but this time it didn't make a noise at all,it was a quiet morning ,very surreal day with fresh snow and a crisp sunny winter morning.
The dog kind of followed me and stared but didn't approach me,and I wasn't afraid of it that day at all, because it seemed like it just wanted to play outside because it was probably tired of being locked up all day in the yard.
I made a mental note to make sure I ring the doorbell of the customer the next day to let her know that her dog was out ,that it got loose,I was kind of worried that it might run away.
So anyway the next day,I rang the doorbell, and told the lady that her dog must have got loose and was running on the front lawn and hiding in the bushes but ran in the back yard after I seen it and went to the next house.
Well ,her face turned pure white when I told her this, because she told me that it was impossible that it wasn't her dog. I didn't want to argue with her about it,I was just trying to be a nice guy and let her know.
Then what she said raised the hairs on my arms, her dog had died over the weekend in the house peacefully,it was an older dog.I didn't know what to say, except that ,'yeah you are right,it probably wasn't your dog". I mean what else could i say.
I never told anyone at work because they would have laughed at me. ha ha
I almost didn't believe it myself, but it definately was her dog.and the strange thing is,when it ran it didn't make a noise ,or it didn't bark either.
Kooky huh?
The dog looked happy though, but I think it was a little scared .

the dog, was a ghost.
he probably did not come to you but to the area that you were sleeping in. maybe a bed that he used to sleep on was there.
you are not nuts...
well not just because of seeing the ghost dog, there are many other factors to detrermine if you are nuts or not. you really could be crazy and never know it. but that is not what youasked so i will stop my rant now before i drive you crazy......

When we are young we can see behind the veil of death. I would say you saw a dog that once lived near or in your house that died. He has probably moved on by now, but he may of been lonely at that time and didn't know he was dead.

I know that Sun Dogs are ghosts of the Sun, in the sky, is this what you mean ?
If the dog could talk it should have told you, you are the only one to know what's all about, nobody else can tell you that.
