C. Look on the bottom of the page since the definitions for the abbreviations are set forth in the form of footnotes.
D. Look on the bottom of the page since the definitions for the abbreviations are set forth in the form of headnotes.

The definitions of terms in the Shepard volumes are found in the
front of the volume. Going to the back would only get the so called "pocket part" which is a yearly addition to the volumes which updates their content.
