No kidding, I'm still waiting for Paul McCartney to put on an armor and participate in jousts or slay dragons. Knighthood is so overrated. And for Pauline who said we are just jealous because we can't have knighthood, get over yourself. Former NYC Rudolph Giuliani was given knighthood in 2002 for his role during the 9/11 crisis.

Well, it is NOT so they can have tea, NOT because they're out of geniuses, NOT because the Monarch is on decline, NOT because of money, NOT because it has anything to do with jealous Americans, or any other INSULT one can come up with.

Knighthood has many categories like the NOBEL piece prize or the Academy Awards. Celebrities (famous people) are a small minority of people knighted. It is an honour bestowed on the recipient for their contribution to a particular category. And they do it without putting anyone down or insulting anyone in a false attempt to give themselves credibility.
