I do that too! My family and friends always assumed I was getting weepy, but it happens every time I yawn. Anyway, I've heard that it's because when you yawn, it contracts the facial muscles, which squeezes your tear glands, which forces tears out into your eye.

This is more of an anatomy question not psychology...but anyway. There are small dicts that lead from your eyes to your sinus passages ways into your nose (they are called lacrimal ducts). When you yawn or laugh, you pass a great deal of air into then out of your lungs (some more than others, more in your case). This drains the lacrimal ducts and your tear ducts produce tears to keep your eyes moist and to protect them from the force of the pressure in your sinus cavities. I get it to a lot of people do. We are in the minority but we are normal.

I heard there is a connection between eye, ear, nose and throat. So something is connected between these glands but nothing proved solid yet.
