How about horses - tie between Smarty Jones and Barbaro who won 3 Triple Crown races including 2 Kentucky Derbys. Had Barbaro not broken his leg - he was a strong favorite to win the Triple Crown - something that no human team in Philly has ever accomplished.
If horses are not considered athletes, then we have a tie between Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton and Dr. J.

I think it would be Donavan McNabb(regardless of his injury) or Ryan Howard. Donavan set an NFL record for QBs for the first 5 weeks last season. Ryan on the other hand hit the most home runs last season, and won the NL MVP. If you ask me Philly has some great players, the teams just need to produce wins, in and out of the playoffs.
